Technical:

Passports - reminder that learning and taking NBTA Passport assessment is of value to all twirlers, not just those who wish to enter Selections.  However, please ensure that those attending passport days have been taught content beforehand, as these days are not intended as training seminars.  If you need NBTA coach to teach your corps the passport elements, please contact member of our technical board to arrange.  An additional passport day has been arranged for Sunday, 15th August, at Keynsham Leisure Centre, Temple St, Keynsham BS31 1SE – booking form attached for those interested.  Any query contact Dana Crooks on 07834 389524.

Please remember: anyone wishing to enter England Team selections this year in either Solo or Duet event/s will need to have taken Bronze & Silver, plus add-on to Silver Passport.  Juveniles do not need to complete add-on, but will need to have completed Bronze & Silver.

Teacher/Judges - Anyone interested in attending teacher/judge course (Stage 1 & 2) next year, please contact either Dawn Langston: dawn.langston@btinternet.com or Leanne Bannister: leanne_gossage@hotmail.com.

Coaches Day – Technical Board are holding another Coaches Day on Saturday, 22nd January 2011 (probably Basingstoke), so please put this date in your diaries, as several coaches/corps directors asked for another day, after the success of the previous one.  More detail to be provided at Nationals.

England Team Selections:

Individual & team selections will be held at Torbay, on Monday 25th October 2010. Large corps events will be throughout the week, as usual.  Entry forms attached, which will also be downloadable from NBTA website.  England team training days are 27th November ‘10 & 15th January ‘11 – please ensure you are available to attend both of these, if you are selected for individual/duet or team event.

For corps events selected, it is the intention for two members of technical board to go to a training session sometime during November/December. Note: If any of the small teams (dance & twirl) are made up from members of a Corps event, then these will be assessed at same time as Corps event, otherwise small teams will be expected to attend individual training session in November.  Venues for training days will be confirmed nearer the time.

Next year’s Europeans are being held in Czech Republic, although we are still waiting for confirmation of exact location.  Details and costs of the trip will be advised as soon as possible after location is known.

Nationals:

Charity it has been decided this year’s charity will be Help the Heroes.  One day during Nationals week will be fancy dress with the theme of Heroes.  It is hoped to run quiz night, and we ask that all corps provide a raffle prize for this very worthy cause.

Security – if you are interested in helping out on security at Nationals this year, please contact Kevin Johns on 07867 686748.

Annual General Meeting – will be held Tuesday evening this year, not Thursday.  Please see AGM notice.

Car Parking – temporary Leisure Centre membership will be available again this year, which allows car parking in the Centre car park throughout the week.  Cost to be confirmed, but likely to be around £18 per car.  Every year someone has problem with parking tickets, so please ensure you display a valid ticket at all times, and park within designated boxes, otherwise you are very likely to get a ticket, adding more cost to the week.

Holiday Soccer Courses – for any siblings that like football, there are courses available during the week, in Torbay area.  Course details are not on website just yet, as currently taking bookings for summer holidays, but please visit: www.tufitc.co.uk nearer the time to apply, if interested.

Dates for Entries - don’t forget closing date for Nationals is 9th September, and Selections 25th September, (although you’re welcome to submit them earlier, if ready).

More info on what’s going on through Nationals week will come out nearer the time.

NBTA Shop:

As you are probably aware, shop is now being run by Derek Canes and Cheryl Cooper again.  Currently looking for feedback on what you think the shop should stock.  Please help us to provide what you want, as any profit from shop goes back into NBTA funds.  We are in the process of trying to get some form of brochure on to our website, so now is a good time to refresh ideas on what stock to carry.  All ideas welcome – please e-mail suggestions, or tell us at Taunton or Nationals.
